It has been my pleasure to be the Troop Committee Chairman since 2014. After several years of Cub Scouting with my two boys, it was a pleasant surprise to learn how much more Boy Scouting can offer young men as they make their journey through scouting: developing leadership skills, building character and good citizenship, and acquiring habits that promote mental and physical fitness. The call of the outdoors to fun, adventure, and discovery keeps boys coming back year after year, and even into adulthood, former troop members return to pass on the “spirit of scouting” to our newest scouts.Troop 2399 has been a consistent Journey to Excellence Gold Award winner and the recipient of the Temescal District Rocky Trout Award in 2013 & 2014 (given to the troop with the most Eagle Scouts in a year). We are a medium sized troop of about 40 boys. Large enough to plan for big group activities and share resources; small enough that scouts and parents don’t feel lost and troop leadership opportunities are more readily available. We are blessed to have a dedicated group of parent volunteers who help deliver the promise of scouting and a strong charter organization in St. Paul the Apostle Church that sees the benefit of instilling scouting values in the youth of our community in Chino Hills. The results we see in the scouts as they progress over the years continues to motivate us to promote this program which is still as relevant today as at it’s founding over 100 years ago.
Welcome to all our visitors and I invite you to visit us at a troop meeting!
Yours in Scouting,
Troop 2399 Committee Chair
